Life in the Big City Part One

My regular Sunday post was delayed by technical difficulties: temporary loss of access to the Internet. My apologies to those of you who check regularly on Sundays.

There are several places that I like to visit when I come to Toronto. Two of them are conveniently located next to each other on Queen Street West.

Some of you may remember the Type bookstore from the stop-motion video I posted as a Friday Night Flick.

I bought a box of pencils at Type, mostly for the packaging,

and some odds and ends (but no paper) at The Paper Place.

When I was meeting my sister at her workplace I dropped in on a calligrapher who I met last year when I was visiting.

My sister took me to a wonderful concert of music performed by or inspired by the Romany.

Yesterday afternoon we went to the Gardiner Museum. We saw the Kent Monkman exhibition and the display on the history of porcelain.

I have done lots of other things (including family visits), and lots of walking and looking.

Plenty of things to do this week as well. I will likely not post again until I am home, though there is a pre-scheduled Friday Night Flick for this week.

About Byopia Press

I have been working in the book arts field for more than twenty years, and operating Byopia Press with my husband David since the late 1990s. I began producing artist's books and altered books in 2004.
