Friday Night Flicks: Echizen Japanese Paper / Tadao Fukuda

As a change from the recent series of typography-related videos, this week’s offering is about suminigashi marbling. Now in his eighties, Takao Fukuda has spent his working life as a marbler in Echizen, long enough to earn the designation of Living National Treasure.

If you want to try suminigashi this weekend, there are instructional videos on Youtube.
