Byopia Press Advent Calendar 2019: Day Twenty-one and a Simple Modular Ornament

Today’s offering is extremely simple to fold and, because it is made from two squares of paper, offers the opportunity for bi-coloured ornaments.

I found a good set of instructions from the Danish company Vivi Gade design.

You can download your own copy:  Vivi Gade ornament.

The only tricky step is interlocking the two parts.

I found following the directions shown in the picture of step 9 to be rather clumsy: I ended up with several of the points in the wrong position. It was easier to lay the two units flat and tuck the points into the correct position.

Once you have the interlocking part figured out, these are quick and easy to make. If you are both adept and ambitious, you might try making a tiny matched pair to wear as Christmas earrings!

Once again you are an inspiration. In February I am teaching a class on paper jewelry and this is one I must include. What fun! Thanks so much. Happy Holidays! Warmly, Nancy
