Tonight’s flick is from Jac Batey of Damp Flat Books.
This short film shows the working methods from concept through to completion of the artist’s book Piano Lessons. The concertina book is satirical in tone showing increasingly frustrated hands attempting to play complicated music. The film shows how the rubber stamps are planned, cut and printed on the vintage pianola roll paper and includes descriptions of the decisions and processes involved in production of this limited edition.
You might try making your own stamps this weekend. You can find instructions for several kinds on The Spruce Crafts.
thank you for this discovery cathryn!
