Friday Night Flicks: Ayesha Gamiet

Tonight’s flick is a brief interview with artist/illustrator/Islamic manuscript illuminator Ayesha Gamiet. In the video she talks about spending a year using the colours of flowers for inspiration in Islamic geometry, then moving beyond that to a more intuitive use of colour based on what she had learned.

I recommend taking a little time this weekend to look at the paintings and illustrations on Gamiet’s website.
